Como esta semana teve mta coisa interessante no TrendLand, resolvi publicar um "apanhado" geral, tem moda, fotografia e arquitetura...

Começando com arquitetura (abandonada) e monumentos da antiga Ioguslávia!

texto original: During the 60s’ and 70s’ former president of Yugoslavia, Tito wanted to show the world the strength and con­fi­dence of the Social­ist Repub­lic by having sculptors and architects building those (very futuristic) monuments com­mem­o­rat­ing the Sec­ond World War. This series entitled Spomenik was photographed by Jan Kempenaers. Today these sculp­tures now in ruins are located in Croa­tia, Ser­bia, Slove­nia and Bosnia.

Medusa Collection fall 2011 by Eugene Lin ->

texto original: We love the Medusa collection for Fall 2011 designed by young talented Eugene Lin. The Singapore-born, London-based designer launched his label in 2009 and since then has been exhibiting during London and Paris Fashion Weeks. Comfort and luxury are synonymous with the label and we really like his sharp eye for detail and strong focus on creative design.

Laura Theiss

original text: Lithuanian-born London-based knitwear designer Laura Theiss blown us away with her recent SS11 collection. The designs combine traditional hand-knitting and crochet techniques inspired by Far East costumes with metallic embellishment, unusual color combinations  and futuristic, feminine vision in the forms. The inspiration behind collection was Chinese ancient legend about Dropa Discs and their owners “visitors from the sky” whom originates from 10.000 B.C.  We really love this balance between amazing showpieces and wearable, every-day clothes.

Lakes and Reservoirs by Matthew Brandt

original: A great photographic project by Los Angeles based artist Matthew Brandt. For his “Lakes and Reservoirs” series Brandt’s shoots the lakes and reservoirs and after developing them he soaks each image in the specific lake or reservoir water that they represent. Great colorful result.
